#572 - 1958 Morris Minor 1000 Series III
VIN: MA2S3L673025
Engine: 1275cc I4 A-series
Trans.: 4-spd Manual
The 1000/Series III was introduced in 1956 with a larger engine and an improved transmission intended for better highway use. This fine 2-dr Saloon example looks like it just rolled off the assembly line in 1958.
Overall:
Double-M Ranch finished a complete restoration on this vehicle this year and it shows. This is a turn-key automobile with nothing needed to take it on the road.
Drivetrain:
This vehicle starts right up, runs well, and drives smoothly. The 1275cc engine was rebuilt during the restore. Much larger than the stock engine (948cc), this new motor will move the car on the highway better than the original intended. The 4-spd gearbox was also rebuilt and functions like new.
Exterior:
The paint appears almost flawless and all the chrome shines brightly. The old "trafficators" are rare and very hard to find, alas, this Minor only indicates turn direction through the rear lighting. But the "flag" locations are still present in the door pillars and retain that classic look.
Interior:
The tan leather interior is brand new, and the stock seats have been replaced with much more comfortable, and modern, recliners. New carpeting throughout completes the new car feel. The old vent-window crank handles are a classic feature.
