In 1955, the new top-of-the-line Custom Royal Lancer exemplified Dodge’s new “Flair-Fashion” styling. A tricolor paint scheme, split grille, wraparound windshield, and simulated hood scoop were styling touches introduced for the model year. This two-door hardtop has the distinctive ‘sweep-spear’ side trim and is equipped with chrome fins on the rear fenders, a feature only available on the flagship of the Dodge lineup. The new styling proved successful for Dodge, with sales across all models nearly doubling in 1955.
