Lot Listing #607 2002 Mercedes Benz G500 Geländewagen

$0.00

In the Austrian factory where workers in blue jumpsuits assemble the Mercedes-Benz G500, there is a sign that reads, "Geländewagen: Robust und Exklusiv."

That sign describes the character and appeal of the Mercedes off-roader more accurately than anything the marketing department might have dreamed up. The defining characteristics of this vehicle, previously known as the Geländewagen, are indeed its robust nature and exclusivity.

This example, featuring a 5.0L 292hp V8, 5-Speed automatic, and hi/lo range 4wd transfer case, with triple locker differentials, is finished in Tectite Gray Metallic over black leather interior, and is optioned with heated seats, sunroof, cd changer, navigation, bose premium stereo system, and upgraded black 19" G55 AMG wheels.

Sold new for over $87,500 in 2002, and the body style remained the same until 2018! AMG versions of the G-Wagen regularly sold new for over $200,000! Making these G500's an incredible value for the money!

The current owner acquired this G Wagon a couple of years ago and has enjoyed it as regular daily driver.  It is dependable, a blast to drive and gets a lot of attention.  The pictures really don't do justice to the body and interior condition.  It shows better in person.  Two new fobs, iCarSoft MBII diagnostic tool and recent clean CarFax.  It has a few issues that are common to G Wagons of this era and mileage, including:  peeling clear-coat (roof only), assorted electrical issues (most notably the door locks occasionally cycling) and a wobble if you hit a pothole or other surface change at highway speeds and tired window motors.
