The clock is extremely well-made with the clock body made of solid brass and the wheel fashioned from beautiful hardwood. The battery powered movement has been replaced with a very quiet version that has a true "sweep" second hand. There is no quartz "tick" from this gem.
The face of the clock is a copy of a ship's engine controls and resides behind a porthole window. Two brass cleats unscrew to allow access to the movement. The back of the clock is a solid brass plate, and a brass hook is mounted to the wheel for the clock to be hung on the wall.
